The Gemini offshore wind farm – with a total capacity of 600 MW – is one of the largest wind farms in Europe, both in terms of size as in annual energy production. Gemini is located in the Dutch part of the North Sea, about 85 km offshore, north of the island Schiermonnikoog, and is not visible from shore. Its location is characterized by the highest and most constant wind speeds in the North Sea.

 

Gemini is built in two nearby locations, which is also the reason for its name

(Gemini = twins). The official names of the two offshore wind farms are Buitengaats

and ZeeEnergie. Mostly based from its office in Amsterdam, but sometimes also

from location in the North of the Netherlands, the Gemini team is responsible for

the operation of this important renewable asset for the Dutch electricity supply.

 

To further strengthen our finance team we are recruiting for a

 

Controller

Parttime (20 - 28 hours per week)

 

Tasks & responsibilities

As Controller you support senior management with the necessary financial information to enable them to carry out their mandates effectively. You are a self-starter, able to multitask and cover all areas of running the controller function.

 

The main tasks for this position are:

      - Manage the planning- and control process to assure accurate financial reporting:

              - Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end closing, including account

                analysis and reconciliation

              - Prepare monthly and quarterly reports in accordance with IFRS

              - Prepare annual accounts and manage yearly audit by the auditor

              - Discuss quarterly forecasts with budget owners

              - Support yearly budget rounds and prepare annual budget

      - Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts

      - Prepare bi-yearly repayments to banks

      - Prepare the reporting subsequent to the financing

      - Prepare payment of dividends

      - Support on salary payments and supervision on payroll accounting

      - Initiate and organize improvements in the financial system (Workday)

      - Manage operational financial data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy in

        close cooperation with the accountant

      - Monitor (and improve where required) the effectiveness of internal controls.

 

The controller reports to the CFO, who is ultimate accountable for finance.

Together with an accountant you form the finance team for Gemini.

 

Your profile

You are a passionate, accurate and enthusiastic person, with strong financial and analytical skills. You are able to work well independently and are a self-starter. On the other hand, you also function effectively in a team setting, are able to work effectively together with colleagues and can communicate clearly on complex matters.

 

Your experience and background

      - Msc in Accountancy or Economics

      - At least 5 years of relevant experience as a financial controller, with a background

        in accountancy and / or accounting in an operational setting, e.g. operations &

        maintenance at complex utility companies (energy producers) or large industrial

        corporations with high maintenance assets, marine / offshore or real estate /

        infrastructure companies

      - Experience with reporting to international shareholders for consolidation purposes

      - Our international team and stakeholders require excellent verbal and written

        command of the English language, with proficiency in the Dutch language

        also preferred

      - Good organizational and interpersonal skills

      - Capable of dealing with specific tasks yourself and fill the resource gaps of

        the team where needed
